Post subject: Anti-Frizz Base Scent? Posted: Sat May 28, 2011 9:38 am |

Hello all, after I blow-dry my hair, I can smell the base of the Anti-Frizz pretty strongly in my hair and I don't like it. Of course, it is quite strong when using unscented but I still get the smell from other ones - I have tried several like White Jasmine Mint, Vanilla Sandalwood, and Chergui. All are the same...after my hair is dry, the base scent just wafts from my hair, especially when I am outside in the fresh air.
Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any scents that cancel out the base scent? Thank you in advance!

Sorry to hear that, bevans. I've never had that happen, but I tend to use the "stronger" scents in my CP leave-in products, such as Cinderella's Carriage, Dracula, and Black Cat in the Pumpkin Patch. Sometimes I mix my Anti-Frizz with a bit of Glissade -- my hair likes the combination -- and maybe that keeps the base smell under control, too. Have you tried using the Glissade instead of Anti-Frizz to see if it works on your hair without amping a base smell? Just a thought, although some folks swear by the Anti-Frizz over Glissade for their particular hair. Or adding a bit of EWB to layer the fragrance?

sueall thank you for your help...i have tried Glissade and it just doesn't do much for my hair. I really love the Anti-Frizz so I will try it one more time in a stronger scent or mixing with some EWB.

I've never noticed the base scent either but I also tend to use the stronger scents as well. Perhaps that will help!

hmmmmm, I am curious if you purchased the Anti-Frizz from me? I smelled the base after reading this and I hardly detect any smell whatsoever. I got a light milky type smell, but it was really faint. And smelled nothing in any of the ones with scent added. Although, it could be you are sensitive to an ingredient.

Thanks, beverlyc...I am pretty sure that I bought the Anti Frizz before you took over. Is the current formula at all different from the original?
The "plastic" smell that I get is only after I blow dry my hair - I can't smell it at all out of the bottle or even in my hair if I don't blow dry it. My family doesn't think it is as bad as I do...I am going to order today (thanks for the sale!) and will try a new bottle to test. It really is the best thing for anti-frizz for my hair...keeps my hair softest of anything I've tried.

Weird that it happens with so many different scents...I thought "only" the marshmallow scent oils and Blush turned plasticky with heat..
